The Foundation for Sight & Sound depends primarily on volunteers and supporters to create, manage and execute events on our behalf. For more information or to schedule an event, please contact us at: info@foundationforsightandsound.org

Five years ago, Mitch Shapiro, the founder of the Foundation for Sight & Sound began orchestrating successful fund raising events for the organization. Prior to founding the FSS, Mitch was active for nine years at the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB). Mitch took the knowledge he garnered from FFB and channeled it into FSS. One of the major building blocks Mitch was fortunate to have was the voluminous network of supporters. The bedrock of FSS was formed. Two events became synonymous with FSS: the Tug-a-Jet Challenge and the “Blind” Wine Tasting Gala. To see photos from these events, please click on the News tab.

Although these large events were hugely successful, smaller events run by our creative supporters are the backbone of the organization. Our supporters have held “traditional” fundraisers including walk-a-thons, car washes, bake sales, etc.

Others have explored alternatives including the acclaimed “Go Fly a Kite” program.
