Imagine. Really imagine. Close your eyes so you can block out all distractions. We live in a wonderful world. Sure, we’re all going through this period of stressful national and international anxiety involving war, insane terrorists, politics and economic uncertainty, but in spite of it all, we are living in a wonderful world of rich, ample and diverse opportunities. And it is all of this terrific opportunity that’s at the heart of my dream.
I see a world where everyone can feel as blessed as I feel, to have great friends, to take wonderful vacations, participate in exciting activities, be able to help others, continue to learn and grow intellectually and emotionally – in other words, people should not be held back or denied from being able to do all they really want and could be capable of doing.
I dream of the day when all people, regardless of how challenged they may be to see or hear, can live a fulfilled life, realize their full potential and enjoy the true beauty of what our wonderful world has to offer. I dream of a world of unlimited possibilities. Right now, there are too many closed doors.
I know the path to my dream will be a thorny, complicated and difficult journey, and at times, clouded and obscured by painful setbacks. But I can see the light up ahead clear enough to stay focused; I know it’s there and I know this dream is well-worth fighting for.
I’m grateful for so many talented, generous and loving friends and supporters that have rallied around me, enhancing my dream - adding brighter, more-vivid color, solid structure and shape and well-defined, coherent reality day after day. Anything is possible because of the continued devotion of these wonderful people, as well as those who will join us tomorrow, so that Mitch’s Dream will one day be as natural and common-practice in our society as the miracle of life itself. |
