Trekker GPS Program The Trekker Global Positioning System (GPS) device helps the visually impaired navigate their way anywhere in the world through global positioning. It pinpoints exact locations and announces street names that enable the visually impaired greater independence and mobility. The manufacturer’s list price is $2,000 per unit. The GPS device can be used alone or with a guide dog. Since we began earmarking funds towards this program, FSS has purchased 20 units that have enhanced the lives of blind or visually impaired individuals who are assisted by a trained guide dog. Help us empower the visually challenged to flourish in today’s world – to be safe and have freedom. The Foundation for Sight & Sound turns dreams into possibilities by helping those without sight and sound learn, live, and work better.
